Knights of Pythias lay plans for a state home

The Halghle of thias who met in Grand Lodge in Minot laid plans for a State Pythian Home in North Dakota to be realized soon. About seventy-five delegates attended the grand lodge session with large sister attendance. A joint session welcomed by W. M. Smart featured greetings, flowers, telegrams from leaders, and discussions on establishing the endowment fund amid growing membership. The next meeting was set for Bismarck in June 1922.

Minot Lad Hero Rescues Friend at Superior Bay

Harold Jones, 10, formerly of Minot, saved Raymond McBride, 9, from drowning after a raft broke apart in Superior bay. He reached McBride as he sank, guided him to shore, then attempted another rescue but died. Lawrence Johnson 10 and Harvey Kunert 12 survived the incident.

Murderer of Marie Wick Not Located in Fargo

Fargo authorities arrested Wm. Gummer, clerk at the Prescott hotel, on murder in the first degree. Held without bond, his hearing is set for June 21. The case involves the 18 year old Marie Wick murdered in Room 30, Prescott hotel, with ongoing pursuit of linked suspect James Farrell and related evidence from the hotel.

Demonstration Of Avery Road Maintainer At Grand Forks

Jacob Raub, in charge of Avery Co territory for western North Dakota and eastern Montana, conducted a demonstration of the Avery road maintainer in Grand Forks on Saturday. The one man machine drew a large crowd as it shaved a city block in seven minutes leaving a smooth surface, and officials of Grand Forks praised the device highly.

Mile Sofie Hanmer of the Metropolitan Opera Co of New York visited Minot on Monday as a guest of honor at the Rotary luncheon. On Ladies Day the Wives and guests enjoyed her three numbers, a French piece and encores Annie Laurie and a Norwegian children's song. Hanmer, praised as a premier coloratura, captivated the audience and connected with the Rotary spirit.

Indiana Illinois Picnic At River Park Minot

Dr Roy L Smith delivered the Minot high school commencement address to 63 graduates. The event featured praise for parents and local educators, with speeches by city officials and educators. Minot steam laundry moves to new corner plant in Minot

The Minot Steam Laundry has moved this week to a new one story and basement plant at First Street and Second Avenue Northwest. The 483 by 180 foot building was built for laundry use and includes new equipment like a water softener. The new plant offers ample room for growth and will serve a city twice the size of Minot as Theodore and August Meyer run the business. The project cost $70,000.00.

Death of Elna McCormick

Elna McCormick twelve died Monday night after a three week illness from spinal meningitis at home in this city. Funeral held Wednesday at 4 pm from Sata Lutheran church officiated by Rev T F Gullixbon. Interred Lutheran cemetery. Survived by parents an older brother and two sisters. Father a traveling engineer on the Great Northern.

Forty Foot Expansion Granted for Minot News Building

Dinnie and Knudson secured the contract to construct a forty foot addition to the Minot Steam Laundry building on Pirot Street SW, the News building recently acquired. The laundry will move into the new front and interior, with the News occupying the block and providing a fine home for their operations.
