Keen rivalry marked the inter county track and field meet at the Summer School session held Saturday at the Minor State Normal School. McHenry led early and held first, with Orphans and Bottineau close behind as county scores totaled. Girls and boys events showcased numerous winners in sprints, throws, jumps, and specialized races amid brisk competition among twelve counties and a full meet of officials supervising the events.

Sunday School Institute at Drady Draws Invitees
A Sunday School Institute will be held at the hall in Drady next Sunday at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and an all afternoon session follows. Minot Symphony Orchestra Planned by Blaine Allen
Blaine Allen and his brother plan to organize the Minot Symphony Orchestra. Allen, in Minneapolis, is hiring ten first chairs and adding fifteen local players to total twenty five. He backs an eight dollar proposition for five years and will tour with ten players, except when appearing in Fargo and Grand Forks with the full orchestra. Sixteen concerts will be held in Minot with city guarantees. Allen will rehearse Sundays with the full group meeting every other Sunday. The road ensemble will include two first violins, second violin, viola, cello, flute, bass viol, clarinet, cornet and drums.

Moving pictures of Minot normal students and fire department
A moving picture of 600 summer school students at Minot Normal and Model School was filmed in the gym of the normal building. The footage will be shown at the Grand Theatre Saturday night. A panoramic view of the building was also shot. A moving picture of the Minot Fire Department was taken Sunday and shown at the Grand Wednesday night. The contest ends next Saturday. Moving pictures of Minot babies are planned.

Ernest Ferris Not Guilty In Grand Forks Court
In a brief district court session Judge Cooley dismissed jurors and awaiting Judge Leighton's return. Ernest Ferris of Des Lacs was found not guilty of stealing wheat. Balch was convicted of assault and battery and faces about 30 days in county jail. Connors and Hackmeister were acquitted on verdicts directed by the judge. Mrs Zine’s absence delayed the burglary case.

Daniel Kimball Answers Summons and Dies in Minot
Daniel Kimball long time Minot police officer dies at 62 from heart leakage at his East Central avenue home. Native of Maine, came to North Dakota in 1880, served as city marshal in Grafton, then chief of police in Minot. Survived by wife, three sons Webb, William, James, and daughter Florence. Funeral Saturday at 2 PM at the Masonic Temple, burial Rose Hill cemetery.

A Sunday incident left at least fifteen people in the river when swimmers clinging to a ferry caused the stern to submerge. One young woman drowned in twenty foot deep water while a large crowd watched as rescues were undertaken from the bank.

Norway's King Pleased With Hanna Address in Oslo Dinner
General Berg of the North Dakota National Guard, who accompanied Governor Hanna to Norway, reports the visit a success. The King hosted a banquet on the Fourth with about three thousand guests, many understanding Hanna's speech. The King praised the address and heard Hanna's toast.
