The North Dakota Press Association holds its inaugural meeting in Devils Lake with plans for entertainment at Lake Wool Park. Gov. Nestos has agreed to speak, a banquet and dance are arranged for Friday evening, and sightseeing and sports will follow on Saturday. Public publishers urged to attend. Minot to Build Potato Warehouse Aided by Subscriptions
Committees in Minot pursue subscriptions to raise 12000 for a potato warehouse with plans to cost about 10000. The structure would be three feet underground with insulated walls and ceilings, three chimneys for severe weather heating, and space for bin storage. Harvest Hands Wanted in Minot
In Minot harvest labor is scarce while demand remains high. Ward County Farm Bureau secretary Clyde Nelson says four to five hundred workers could be placed easily, with wages rising to about four dollars a day plus board. Haying is delayed by water and upland conditions, but rye and harvest work are advancing, and many field hands are still needed near the city.

Young Minot Soldier Buried at Arlington
The remains of John Rasmussen son of Mr and Mrs Soten J Rasmussen were moved from France to Arlington National Cemetery for a burial with honors. The Rasmussens planned to attend but his father’s foot injury caused doubt. Paul Shorb, a former Minot High School classmate, attended the ceremony and placed a bead on the grave. Shorb, now a Washington attorney, noted Rasmussen's Phi Delta Mu Phi activity at the University of North Dakota. In Bismarck, school board rearrangements were announced to shape the coming year with A P Lenhart as chairman and I Larson as treasurer, Richard Penwarden continuing as clerk.

Crowds travel to Minot for Northwestern North Dakota Fortieth Anniversary Celebration opening tomorrow through Saturday. The program runs 2 p.m. daily with Parade of Progress and a Historical Pageant each evening featuring 450 cast members. Afternoon baseball games and roping exhibitions accompany floats, band concerts, dances, and Indian dances. Admission 50 cents adults 26 cents children. pageant starts 8 p.m. Tickets on sale at local drug stores.

Purdy Switchman Killed In Railroad Accident
Lloyd R. Purdy a Great Northern switchman was killed at 6 45 pm when he fell from a car and the wheels cut him in two. The yard master said he slipped during a train lurch as he tried to descend a car. Funeral held at the Methodist church with Rev G LeRoy White officiating. Interred at Rosehill cemetery. Purdy, 28 years old, born Devils Lake, leaves four sisters and several brothers. He had worked for the G N two years.

Christ Peterson of Westby lost his 1916 Ford after leaving it behind the Case building. A wheel, two coils, and an inner tube were taken, followed by a missing wheel and tire placed back on the car. Police are looking for the thieves.

Engine Runs Wild At South Hill Incident
A Case Co engine being hauled into Minot Monday night derailed near the top of South hill after the eluted pin slipped. The engineer attempted to head the engine into the bank, front trucks were torn out, but no other damage occurred.
