Mad Cat Bites Woman in City Backyard
A western city resident was badly bitten when a white cat sprang at her hand as she emptied ashes in her yard. The infuriated animal would not release its grip and had to be killed. The woman suffered a severe hand laceration.
Wm. Johnson Falls From Engine Near Surrey
Wm. Johnson, a Great Northern engineer, fell from his engine near Surrey Friday night while en route to Minot with a freight train. The fireman did not know he had fallen until the train reached town. An engine was sent back. Johnson was found to be only slightly injured with a sprained back.

Brother Drowned Near Omaha Leaves Granville Doctor Grief Stricken
Dr. A. K. Wilkie of Granville received the sad news Monday that his nineteen year old brother had drowned at his old home near Omaha Nebraska. The doctor left at once for the place. The young man was bright and popular and had just graduated from college. His body had not been found at last report.

The funeral of Wm. E. Lunsford took place Wednesday at 2 30 p m from the Methodist church with Rev G L Powell officiating. Interment was in the city. A large crowd attended and Mr Lunsford carried life insurance valued at 6000 dollars.
Commissioners Agree on Rate for County Assessments
