Farmers bring grain samples as a state exhibit. One standout chrome grass sample from Ed Kettleson’s farm near town stands four feet high and yields four tons per acre. Cattle readily eat it and its seeds reseed for years. Some cuttings yield two tons per acre then another two and a half tons later.

J C Hoff, a long known Northwest furniture dealer, failed. His store was closed by Sheriff Scofield after a levy of 3650 to cover debts to Draper Maynard Co Decater Kenneth Clark Co and John Les lie Paper Co. He claimed 2000 still unpaid and blamed poor collections but could have paid with time. He had built a large stock and decent trade over years.

The Blaisdell Bird Co had its $10 000 bond approved by the Board of County Commissioners on Friday and began operations Saturday. John Bates runs the business and brings significant experience as an abstractor. The company shows very bright prospects.
