John M. Wilson received a telegram from Ohlwine Iowa stating his brother in law John Morrow died from burns suffered while employed in the railroad shops at Ohlwine. The deceased had been a machinist at the Great Northern shops in Minot for years and left Minot about 18 years ago. Old time residents recall him with sorrow over the fatal accident.

Summer School Opens at Velva
The Northwestern Summer School opened at Velva with enrollment over 200 teachers. President Crane, to oversee the school, was detained by his mother's death but arrived to take charge. Fargo July 4 The North Dakota state game and fish board met in the city to appoint officers and fill vacancies. The position created by Hart’s discharge remains open with a meeting in St John next week likely to yield an appointment. W H Francis of Velva is rumored as a likely choice. Two assistants to the chief game warden were named to patrol and enforce laws, though their identities were withheld for now. James Kerr of Velva was made district game warden for the Ninth district and George M Houge of Steele for the Sixth.
