Minot pioneer citizen W H Parker dies in Minneapolis
W H Parker one of Minot's early pioneers and a beloved citizen died at Eitel hospital Minneapolis after an operation. He had lived in Minot since 1887, built the Parker House, and was a longtime booster for the city. His funeral was held at the Masonic Temple with a large turnout and moving tributes.

Heavy rains boost crops after drought across Burlington district
A very heavy rain fell near Burlington on Wednesday afternoon with a cloud burst at the M. D. Graham farm. The Friday storm dampened soil to inches, overturned small buildings, and damaged a granary. Farmers expect about half a crop overall, with oats and barley faring better, and a potential flax crop emerging in low areas as showers break a drought.

Katherine Stinson the Texas aviatrix buys a Mitchell automobile on a San Antonio visit. She plans to ship the car to New York, Tour the East in the Mitchell this summer, and continues testing a 150 horsepower army plane for long distance flights while returning from a China Japan tour with honors and gifts including a $3000 check from President Li.

Company D Increases to 118 Members From Surrounding Towns
Company D expands to 118 members with many recruits from nearby towns. About forty men from Minot join the company. officers unchanged. Recruits drill daily as orders set assembly July 1 and movement August 1, though equipment delays may alter plans.
Builders Plan Modern Brick Block On Corner Lot
McGee and Goss have purchased a 9 by 75 by 70 foot corner lot from Dr. L. H. Kermott for 9800 dollars. They draw plans for a two story brick block covering the lot with a first floor of stores and second floor offices and apartments, basement to support six stories. Completion is expected this year, with work beginning soon. The project is valued near 30000 to 40000 dollars and is near Marystead. Also: Northwest state received showers on the Fourth with about a quarter inch rain in Minot and heavier rain near Drady, aiding the dry ground.

Charles Graham Dies in Lamont Train Crash
Charles Graham former Frank and Graham Co. and Lamont Telegraph Exchange manager was killed when his car was crushed by a train at Lamont after a brief ride with his wife son Arthur Smith and two others. Graham served as Lamont mayor and was a director of Union National Bank. His wife Mina Lena Lambert survives with a son and siblings in this city.
