Destructive Regina Cyclone Claims Dozens Dead
A terrible cyclone struck Regina Saskatchewan Sunday evening injuring about 400 and killing 41 with the death toll expected to rise. The storm toppled six grain elevators wrecked churches and the Y M C A roof and destroyed wholesale houses. Many residents were left homeless and communication with Regina remained difficult as the city faced extensive damage.

Two Dairy Wagons Destroyed in Separate Minot Accidents
Two dairy wagons were wrecked in Minot in a single day. Mae Martin delivering milk on North Belgea Avenue was forced into a collision with a runaway fire wagon near the river, overturning and smashing bottles and milk. Later, J B Reed’s drag team ran away on West Flint Street, overturning Miller’s Home Dairy wagon as bystander aided by seizing the reins and a man absconded with Reed’s dollar.

Granville farmer W W Peck facing a preliminary hearing after being accused of abusing his seventeen year old daughter. Governor John Burke was the second highest man on the floor for vice presidential nomination at the Baltimore convention. Clarence Leach of southeast of Berthold stood before Justice Severson on a grand larceny charge for allegedly selling an eight year old heifer to a city butcher. Woman Killed as Soo Train Strikes Car at Kenmare
Mrs H Dwyer of St Cloud Minn died instantly when Soo Spokane Limited No 1531 struck the car carrying the Dwyer family at a crossing near Baden. Mr Dwyer and daughter were badly injured. They were taken to Kenmare hospital. recovery doubtful. Louis Freeman Passes Away in North Dakota
Louis Freeman former Minot resident died at his Lisbon North Dakota home after a three year illness. He was bedfast since falling ill in Minot three years ago and his funeral was held in Lisbon with burial at River Falls Wisconsin. He was about seventy and had worked in a wholesale fruit business and as a traveling salesman for La Crosse Plow Co. A Civil War veteran and former state governor Burke’s staff captain, Freeman was long a friend of many in the state.
