John Cross G N engineer died of a fractured skull at St Josephs hospital after being struck near the Great Northern viaduct on Second Street N W He died following an attempt to save a two year old child Mrs Weiss the childs mother Iverson driver of a Ford car swerved to miss the child as he stopped on the viaduct cross was 44 45 and had served the Great Northern for 24 years He is survived by wife Margaret A Wood two children George 21 and Junior L Cross and his parents Mr and Mrs J L Cross of Valley Forge Wash Funeral at Presbyterian church with Rev P W Erickson in charge interment Rose Hill cemetery
