Night officer Fahler was shot twice at 4 15 am on Second Street S E near Ellison flats while challenging whiskey runner Avery Erickson from Chisholm Minnesota. Erickson fired wounding Fahler and was shot by Fahler later. both were taken to St Desco hospital with Fahler in critical condition and Erickson recovering.

A burglar entered the Fedje and Tweet stores and Johner Bros. in Berwick North Dakota at night breaking front doors with crowbars. He looted about 1000 in Liberty goods from Johner Bros including suits overcoat shoes and silk and amounts from Fedje and Tweet’s. the crime was discovered next morning amid a storm and thaw with snow and rain.
