Bed Clothes Theft Suspects Detained in County Jail
Gust McLain and George Anderson, two Black men, were arrested for stealing bed clothing from the old Scandinavian hotel now owned by Windsor on January 4. The items were reportedly found at the Lyceum theatre where the men had been sleeping. They were bound over to county court by Judge Murray and, lacking bail, remain in jail under sheriff Kelley’s custody.

Insanity Board Dismisses South Prairie Farmer
BP Locks a south prairie farmer was arrested on neighbor Bert Updike’s complaint and brought before the insanity board Friday. After hearing his story the board dismissed him saying he had a right to run if he was scared. Locks said he had gone to a home he boarded at to give presents to the children when a woman answered with a club and began beating him. He fled to his buggy and heard a shot fired nearby as he rode off.

Des Lags Worker Arrested After Rampage Threats
C. H. Lewis a colored fellow working for John Forbradge of Des Lacs was arrested Saturday afternoon by Deputy Sheriff Dan Dougherty for threatening fatal harm to Mir Forbradge and Emery Coffey. Lewis snapped a public safety item at Coffey twice. it was unloaded, no damage occurred. Fordradge intervened and took the weapon, then Lewis allegedly threatened his employer’s life.

Prominent White Earth Woman Dead
Mrs Irwitt Williams wife of a prominent farmer rancher died at the Williams ranch Tuesday at 4 am after a brief illness. Convulsions blamed for the death. She was 38, survived by her husband and six children. The remains will be interred at Williston Friday.

John Hunt Responds To Last Orders
John Thompson Hunt of Lincoln Avenue died suddenly at Hotel Dacotah from heart trouble at 4 30 in the afternoon. He was 79, never ill before, and collapsed after a severe pain in his side while in the lobby speaking with A McDonald of the hotel. Interment plans await word from his son in Tacoma. His wife and daughter Mrs John Anderman survive, along with a son who travels for work. The coroner deemed no inquest necessary. A Northern Star meeting received an electric stove at the Masonic hall.
