Bowbells Youth Murders Father and Attacks Neighbor
Gust Anderson aged nineteen, living twenty miles south of Bowbells, shot his father K A Anderson with a Remington pump gun then hacked the body with an axe. He then shot neighbor Oscar Kallberg three times and wounded him. The elder Anderson, about 45, died after surgery in Kenmare. Gust was arrested at the Bowbells county jail after neighbors said he had been in poor mental condition. He had driven his family from the house before the attack following a long quarrel.
