Democrats Endorse Burke for President in County Meeting
About thirty five Democratic adherents met last Saturday in this city to endorse Governor Burke for president. John L. Fahey chaired the meeting with A. D. Hagenstein as secretary. Burke received unanimous endorsement, but winning the nomination seemed unlikely. The group supported Woodrow Wilson of New Jersey for president later, with Marmon of Ohio and a stalwart Democrat also noted. They favored Jones for governor, Halvor L. Halvorson for Congress from this district, and Michael O’Hara for the national committee. County officers were lightly discussed. Fahey may seek county judge and Hagenstein county treasurer. A resolution committee including Halvorson, Grenvick, and MaRee was appointed.

Decent burial given to Dina Olensen by United Charities
Dina Olensen, an eighteen year old who died after illness at a Minot hospital, lay in a morgue for days awaiting burial. United Charities arranged a fitting service after an uncle refused to cover expenses, with Rev. N A Nelson and charity members attending. Flowers adorned the casket as the grave was blessed.

At a stockholders meeting in Bellingham Washington P P Lee was chosen to fill the vacancy from the death of Drew H Lord. Other directors were re elected including Jos Roach James Johnson N J Thorson and R B Barron. A 10 percent dividend was declared and the surplus rose to 35000 with total surplus and profits 52500. Howe Was Convicted Twice Of Horse Stealing
Prominent McKenzie county farmer Melymn H Howe was convicted in Williams county district court on a horse stealing charge. He plans a motion for another trial. The case drew attention as the first verdict was set aside by the judge and the supreme court ordered a new trial. Witness Felix Barter, key to the state's case, was unavailable, being located on a Canadian homestead near the Arctic zone.

Minot Society Stirred by Divorce Claim at Orpheum
Minot residents were unsettled when a woman identifying herself as Mrs. Anna B. Sears filed for absolute divorce and alimony from A. A. Sears, manager of the Orpheum. She says he refused to live with her since July 1910, while he had introduced another woman as his wife in Minot. Evelyn Dare, former Blanche Ring Opera Co. star, was said to be the other woman. Neither party remained in Minot for comment. locals expect explanations upon their return to clear up the confusion and restore peace.

Great Northern wreck near Fargo injures E H Weil
A Great Northern train derailed near Fargo at 7 am injuring E H Weil of Williston who suffered internal injuries after the standard sleeper and observation left the track. J B Reed of Minot was aboard the Oriental Limited with no deaths reported. The wreck followed a fire on the front tracks and a suspected break in a rail. Ed Roan about 40 years old killed himself in the Grand View hotel boiler room in North Portal. He left a Washington family dispute and heavy drinking after moving to Portal four weeks ago. He leaves a wife and four children. Roan was a Hugo soap provider and Langworthy Lumber Company auditor. Burial plans in Washington will follow.
