Whiskey interception nets $1860 loot in Minot bust
State's Attorney Herigstad and Sheriff Nedreloe intercepted a whiskey load en route from Montana to Minot. Roberts fled after a chase and was found with 31 cases, six quarts each, worth $1860. Tuepker pleaded guilty to possessing 16 cases. Clara Gregg sentenced for a trunk find. Fire at mill elevators caused no injuries and firemen contained the blaze.

Fire devastates Minot Flour Mill elevators. $160,000 loss
Fire struck the Minot Flour Mill early Saturday destroying its two large elevators with 150,000 bushels capacity. Loss estimated at 160,000 with grain coverage by insurance. mill to resume next week and Snow White flour production to restart.

Canadian Soldier Bjorn Returns to Minot Parents After War
Private C A Bjorn of McKinley township returned from France where he served with the Canadian forces. Enlisting at Regina in the 249th Battalion, he spent 10 months on garrison duty in Quebec before joining the 16 Battalion in England and took part in the Amiens Cambrai drive. He was wounded by shrapnel in October, and recalls the perilous Cambrai operation where only 44 of 1100 in his section survived. He praises the Red Cross and YMCA, noting the Red Cross provided about 80 dollars worth of comforts during hospitalization. He traveled home aboard the Grampia via New Brunswick, nine days transfer.
