Mrs. Peter Erickson of White Earth eight miles northwest died after ingesting oil of cedar Saturday afternoon. The pregnant wife, distressed by rumors of her husband’s alleged infidelity, refused medical help and died after convulsions despite efforts by a physician. The Ericksons moved to White Earth three years ago.
Northwestern North Dakota offers a Queen of the Harvest Festival title to the candidate with the most votes from sixteen and up with approval of the Executive Committee. The eight runners up become Festival Princesses. Each vote costs one penny, cast to the Commercial club secretary either in person or by mail. Voters receive receipts and identification cards, and merchants may print or obtain vote coupons that must bear the treasurer’s signature to be valid.
