Ward County Auditor Kennard announced a War Department program calling for 12 men to attend a School of Mines preparatory to army entry. Applicants need at least grammar school education and some mechanical ability. Volunteers accepted until August 26. Another call seeks limited service clerical workers, plus 3 general service volunteers. On August 28 the county will send 48 service men to Camp Lewis Washington and 10 limited service men to Camp Dodge next week.
