Minot Attorney George H Stillman Found Dead in Car

The body of George H Stillman prominent Minot attorney was found slumped in his Chalmers car on the Lookout North Hill. A .32 caliber Bulldog revolver lay in his right hand, and a single head wound caused instantaneous death. Coroner and jury investigate foul play vs self harm while noting Stillman's final movements with creditors and Montana business interests. He left home in jovial mood to visit clients and had planned trips to Plentywood and Culbertson. He leaves a wife, daughter Eleanor, and son John.

Dr John A Duncan Noted Surgeon Found Dead at Hotel

Dr John A Duncan, once a physician and surgeon at Upham North Dakota, was found dead in his hotel room on Wednesday afternoon after arriving from the west. A coroner's inquest returned a verdict of death by heart disease. He is survived by his wife and a daughter who died five years ago.

Oil man’s roadster stolen in city highjack case

Wm Early, an oil man from Montana residing in the city, reported being kidnapped Tuesday night after meeting two strangers while out with a woman. He was found unconscious in brush on Eighth Street N. W. Wednesday morning. The Cadillac valued at $3,000 with a missing key was taken, and the robbers did not seize Barry’s $1.00. Police investigate.

American Engineers Meet in Minot September 5

The American Association of Engineers will hold its semi annual convention in Minot on Monday September 5. National secretary E Drayer of Chicago, who heads 25000 members, will address the gathering. About 26 North Dakota members are expected to attend. A luncheon will follow the meeting.

Drowning tragedy as Miss Esther Lonberg dies in Mouse River

Miss Esther Lonberg, 19, of Minot, drowned in the Mouse River near P Peterson farm while trying to save her sister Lillie, with four other picnic participants narrowly escaping. Helga Kvalstad aided the rescue with a long pole, saving Mae Balerud, Willie Peterson, and others. Lifesaving efforts continued for hours until Lonberg's body was recovered. Balerud remained hospitalized in serious condition. Lonberg, a Zion Lutheran Sunday school member and Macomb employee, was honored at a large funeral service at Zion Lutheran church.

Town criers revel in Minot frolic at Oak Park

The Minot Town Drivers held their annual frolic at Oak Park drawing about 200 members and guests. Ras Rasmus sen organized the event with seven assistants. Prizes ranged from a Rhode Island Red rooster to limburger cheese as the crowd enjoyed music, games, and a spectacle by Mark Mansfield and movie actress.

Farmer in Wolsett Reports Excellent Rye Wheat Yield

Wolseth Ole Gresthold, Wolsett farmer, was in the city Friday and bought a New Case threshing separator. He cultivated 800 acres of rye and wheat this year and reports an excellent yield. Nearby crops are light, but a timely steer saved him dollars. Mr and Mrs Whitington of Butte Montana visit with Jesse and Everett Cline on their way home from Ohio.
