Howard Kemp Struck by Auto on South Main Street
Howard E Kemp partner in the printing business with Otto Gross was struck by a car driven by G A Gessner on South Main Street Saturday night at nine o'clock. He was taken to a local hospital but is recovering. Kemp was crossing from Anderson Drug Co toward his office when the car hit him. Gessner drove slowly and Kemp, alarmed, stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. Kemp was knocked several feet and dragged beneath the car with back injuries initially feared to be broken. His clothing was torn and he was bruised.

Traveling salesman falls to death fleeing Grand Forks hotel blaze
F D Stansberry a 47 year old Minneapolis traveling salesman for Mini Toy Song Co died when attempting to descend from the third floor during a hotel basement fire at Hotel Frederick in Grand Forks North Dakota. Sheets and quilts failed to provide escape and his brains were dashed out as he crouched near ground level. Guests escaped safely as fire confined to a basement room and electric meters burned out leaving the hotel dark. Eluterra Metter 36, visiting from San Pedro California, arrived to visit sister Mrs John A Botz Sr after thirty six years apart. She will visit Sauk Center Minnesota later.
