Guthrie Oklahoma November 3 early returns show a shrinking Bryan margin in the state with northern Republican counties reporting. In 1907 Governor Haskell carried by just under 28 000 votes and Bright sunshine across much of the day favored Republicans in the latest indications.
Oklahoma voting patterns show McGuire leading in Payne county with about 250 margin in 1907 and a statewide Democratic lean, while Republican Richard Morgan appears favored in Segend district. Returns indicate Bryan Kern lead statewide by 20,000. Bird McGuire elected to Congress in First district after contest with Henry S. Johnson. legislature heavily Democratic, securing Senator Gare's reelection.
Louis Clinkscales 25 a respected Vinita resident shot himself in a despondent moment over failing health. A Columbia Law School graduate and rising local attorney, he had been secretary of the Craig county democratic committee and was loved by many. He leaves a father, stepmother, two brothers, and numerous friends. funeral plans incomplete.
Guthrie Oklahoma November reports Commissioner Herbert Smock will resign around December or January first to become vice president of an Oklahoma home banking trust company. Appointed by Governor Frantz, he stayed on under the Democratic administration, and resigned voluntarily with no successor set. a school board member may handle appointment. Mrs Vert and her son J Nelson, Wall Street broker, were found dead in an upper Broadway hotel. The mother was shot in the head and the son died by gas in the bathroom. Authorities regard it as likely a joint suicide following the mother's death.
Returns from across the state show Bryan with a 30000 plurality and all congressmen reelected. Republicans claim some districts but Democrats likely carry others. Slow counts may yield surprises. In Craig County, Davenport leads with a power balance noted. final results depend on remaining counties and official reports.
Chaise Missouri November 4 Major Henry Barnett aged 60 killed A B Chaney a saloon keeper on the main street. Chaney killed Burnett s son September 1 and was under arrest. Burnett who lives at Osceola was arrested.
