Perjury Charges in Final Proofs Case
George A. Outcell U S district attorney reports eleven indictments by a Woodward grand jury against Topeka Kansas area citizens for perjury in making final proofs without living on the land. Indicted individuals include Fates A. Hodgins J Thomas J Seward John A Long Bell Seward Michael Lauer James F. Jewell John C. Miller Joseph J. Ainger and George G Rinner each bound at 1000. The Chicago syndicate led by Gobt is not indicted due to statute of limitations. they are accused of charging 50 for securing homesteads without personal filing or residence.
