Guthrie Okla Mar 15 The second Oklahoma legislature adjourned at six oclock Saturday morning after nearly a day of nonstop work. Key measures included leasing of school land, rental set at four percent by Maxey of Shawnee, and the Taylor city election law becoming law with April 6 primary and April 27 election. Governor Haskell signed bills creating a state penitentiary at McAlester and a granite reform school at Granite, with warden appointments. Penal institutions for the state will be run locally to aid highway construction and reduce reliance on Kansas.

McAlester Oklahoma March 1 W H Kinsley a 40 year old railroad bridgeman committed suicide by swallowing creosote at the Fogarty hotel. A letter to his mother in Rochester Washington blamed abandonment by a trusted fiancée and another note directed burial. Police notified but mother has not replied.
