Taft Bribes Marshal to Join Jury in Bold Attempt
William Taft, a farmer near town, visited United States Marshal W H Darrough to join the jury and offered $2.50 in real money. Darrough arrested him and turned him over to the grand jury, left outraged by the audacity of the bribe.

Muskogee Oklahoma June 3 Indians of Creek nation full-blood elements led by Crazy Stake meet at Creek council grounds near Henry Pett y to oppose a state constitution. They plan to move to Old Mexico after selling lands and care little for statehood except to aid tribal members under the law. This may be their last meeting if the constitution passes, as lands could be sold to buyers and many leave for Mexico. Mrs Dan Voorhees arrived in town for a visit with her sister Nora Armstrong.
