Rescue of fellow aviator halted by rifle fire at Mars 10 meet

In Joplin Missouri a cross country flight saved a companion after a rival aviator’s propeller was damaged by a rifle shot. Charles Willard, flying at 500 feet, was struck and landed safely. Mars then found him six miles from Cart Junction and helped return to base as the crowd of 15 000 cheered the dramatic rescue and repair of the aircraft.

Western railroads restrained from increasing freight rates

Cruce Addresses Large Oklahoma Campaign Crowd

Lee Cruce of Ardmore spoke in Vinita last night on the Oklahoma gubernatorial race. The large countywide audience included Republicans, with Cruce outlining his positions on the grandfather clause, bank guaranty law, Torrens land system, and prohibition and suffrage issues.
