Board orders probe of prison expenditures
Guthrie Oklahoma July 8 The board of public affairs yesterday ordered a penitentiary probe to determine if all financial transactions have been proper. The board announced that 75000 of the appropriation for the Ian McAlester Institution has already been disbursed and claims for 25000 more are pending. Miscellaneous expenses were charged to the building fund and there are rumors payrolls were padded with expenses for more guards than were employed.
