Parcels Post Rules Take Effect January First
Post office officials report new parcels post rules to be enforced from January 1. Most items under eleven pounds may be mailed with a two inch dimension rule. Prohibited items include poisons and inflammables. live or dead animals. obscene material. and items violating criminal acts. Exceptions exist for medicines, certain insects in cages, and stuffed animals. Packages require sender names and addresses, and may bear festive inscriptions. Fragile and perishable labels must be applied. Insurance up to 50 dollars available for a fee. Parcel post is fourth class and not admitted to registered mail.

Banker Arrested for Big Shortage in Pryor Oklahoma
W L Jones former president of the Pryor State Bank which failed November 26 was arrested on charges of misappropriating bank funds. He posted bond of 10000 through his brother in law. The bank examiner alleges 17000 cash misappropriated and about 28000 in worthless notes issued. Funds used to promote a Pryor electric plant led by Jones. most shortages occurred in the last 40 days. The bank has reorganized as American State Bank of Pryor with J A Tanger as president. The investigation by Bank Examiner W R Samuel found deposits and guaranty funds not harmed.
