Shawnee Oklahoma December 17 Henry Wallace a Santa Fe shop switchman was shot in the right shoulder by a burglar after a struggle in his room. The intruder removed Wallace's shoes entered the room secured small change then hid in a closet and fought Wallace before fleeing across a fence.
Mrs. Fannie Sternberg, wife of Louis D. Sternberg, grocer, died from wounds after Saturday night robbery at their small store on the outskirts of Kansas City Kansas. Sternberg was killed instantly. robbers remain at large. Officers pledge full effort to catch them.
An Italian Dallas resident, Tony Seahy, received a Black Hand note threatening death unless a cash sum is paid. Detectives followed tips, a stranger collected a hidden packet, was seized, and jailed. Seahy identified no local Italian suspects while the letter named a nine member Black Hand group. A carpet sweeper from Holland’s Prices is advertised in the same page.
