Bank robber Ira Ward shoots self after posse surround
Salina Kansas December 16 Ira Ward thirty years old who robbed the State Bank of Paradise Kansas securing 3500 dollars killed himself when surrounded by a posse of farmers fourteen miles north of Paradise. Ward had eluded the farmers for five hours but at sundown was cornered and shot himself in the brain. The posse found the stolen money on his person. Ward lived twelve miles northeast of Luray and had traveled across the state on a wager. He earlier bought a revolver, ammunition, and rope, then forced cashiers and men at the bank to open the vault and tie them in a back room before fleeing. Lawrence Mogers of Warrensburg Mo died December 11.

The ambulance was wrecked en route due to a water plug accident.

Suit Involving $500000 Filed By Oil Company
A half million dollar suit was filed in Tulsa today by Uncle Sam Oil Co of Oklahoma against Uncle Sam Oil Co of Arizona and Kansas for alleged injuries arguing the defendants received private mails and telegrams intended for the plaintiff. The Oklahoma firm seeks a temporary injunction restraining the defendants from doing business in Oklahoma under the name and from selling against the property while the suit is pending. Russell A.
