Propositions Up To Vinita For Rail Line Disputed

Vinita is not yet offered a formal proposition as Coffeyville directors and Robt. Clapham weigh prospects for a Coffeyville and Memphis railroad. A committee may visit Vinita and Afton to hear offers. Coffeyville interests back the project. Afton has subscribed 16000 stock. Centralia and other towns discuss financing and bonds.

Indian appropriation bill with major funding increase

Washington reports Chairman Sherman will soon submit the Indian appropriation bill. It carries 87 500 000 in appropriations up from 9 000 000 last year. Funds include 40 000 to deliver allotment deeds to Indians and 25 000 for enforcing prohibition laws in Indian Territory schools. No major item for removing restrictions except for expense to prepare records. Senate likely to seek amendments. Curtis says House will resist. Committee aims to complete allotments in the Todlan country.

Rail line decision hinges on larger local bonus

Robbers Loot Omaha Pawnshop in $8,000 Heist

Three men entered the Joseph Sonniberg pawnshop on Douglas street, bound and gagged proprietor Mike Morrissey, his clerk, and customer Frank Swan, and fled with diamonds and jewelry after a Cross exchange of shots. One robber named Ed Willott of Denver was captured. part of the loot recovered.

Helena reports the supreme court declares the eight hour law constitutional in all respects. The ruling states the objective is to conserve health and happiness of working men.

General Nogi Injured in Fall from Horse at Port Arthur Capture

General Nogi the Japanese commander who captured Port Arthur in the recent war was thrown from his horse today and rendered unconscious. His condition causes apprehension. W E B Clapham in Coffeyville reports that Gra ham of Emporia is likely to take Vinita street paving contract and accept script in payment. Buckles says Curtis bill may grant bonds for municipal improvements and an eastern financier is checking the legal question for a possible premium. If bonds fail, sale to Mr Graham is probable.

Bank robbers haul from Interstate Bank in Drexel

Bandits wrecked the safe of the Interstate bank in Drexel Missouri early today and escaped. The estimated take of safe currency is about 85000 dollars. A stray note mentions hair outs at Cobb Hotel Barber shop with no clear relation to the crime.
