The Cherokee Advocate and its equipment were sold at Tahlequah by government sale. Editor Had Ennen paid $151 for the old type and gear. Buildings and grounds went to Levi Cookson for $1,060 and the old Male Seminary site to Ruff Rows for $2,296. The paper was the Cherokee Nation funded bilingual publication with famed editors from the Boudinot lineage.
