A collision occurred when two men named Rowland Dobbin and Leroy Dobbin attempted to cross a main street as a passenger train approached. The emergency brakes saved them from death. their injuries were minor. A fire later destroyed Mrs Paddy's barn near the town, with a loss around 500 dollars. A boy suffered a severe injury from a barbed wire incident on the way to school, requiring surgical care.
