The Woodcock Manufacturing Company of Vinita ships the season’s first feed mill output to Hagner Noble Hardware for display at the county fair. A list of donations to the Woodcock Manufacturing Company includes many local names and businesses, totaling numerous gifts to support the venture.
Tulsa August 27 the congressional Investigating committee arrived after 3 pm was escorted by a Commercial club delegation and toured oil fields and the city. They finished work in Oklahoma and will report to congress. The Gore charges stirred major public interest as the Kansas City visit ended with a belated summer vacation. Commissioner J George Wright noted among party members. The group included P P Campbell C S Miller J G Wright Charles H Burke and two government phonographers. The Katy railroad funded the switch and related costs, with the building committee appealing for donations to cover additional about $300.
In Muskogee Oklahoma on August 27 attorney F. B Wyond was badly injured when a firearm discharged while hunting Friday evening. His left arm was torn severely and doctors feared amputation was necessary though recovery remained uncertain. He was en route home when the accident occurred.
Guthrie Oklahoma August 27 State Insurance Commissioner Milas Lasater warns the public against purchasing insurance contracts from companies not authorized to do business in Oklahoma. He cites two firms soliciting in the state without authority the Western Masons Life Association of Los Angeles California and the German Commercial Accident Insurance Company of Philadelphia.
Cheyenne Wyoming August 27 Roosevelt arrives to a massive crowd as cowpunchers Sioux and Shoshone greet him. Gov Brooks escorts him to the industrial club and a parade follows with Roosevelt in an automobile. He delivers a Frontier Day address praising Western virtues, progress, and national unity.
An early morning attempt to fly from Sheepshead Bay to Fort Hamilton ended when 2 C Mars’ aeroplane was swept by wind and plunged about one hundred feet into the bay. Mara sustained minor injuries as the craft was driven ashore by a tug boat. the machine was completely wrecked.
In Vinita the sheriff and deputies raided after noon yesterday and seized about 120 gallons of whisky and twenty barrels of beer shipped to suspected illegal liquor traffickers. The intoxicants were jailed along with other confiscated crates in the county jail.

Guthrie Okla Aug 27 Citizens with the Commercial club plan extensive preparations for Vice President Sherman arrival Wednesday and a Republican rally and ratification meeting. Special trains expected eight oclock after speeches by McNeal and state nominees with Vic President Sherman speaking at night at Gleatric baseball park. Committees organized for finance grounds transportation music and decoration to handle crowds and big grandstand seating.
