Guthrie August 11 The state game and fish warden s office is practically out of business after an attorney general opinion to the state treasurer saying no warrants drawn on the game protection fund can be paid. The warden and treasurer may sue to resolve the issue. The license system funds both salaries and enforcement and the office now faces shutdown if funds cannot cover about 400 dollars monthly in expenses. Eight salaried deputy wardens would be removed if the opinion stands.

Captain Rescued by Life Savers After Tug Sinks
A naval tug Nieinscott bound for Portland to Boston capsized off Cape Ann in the early morning. Captain, chief engineer, and three crewmen drowned. Second officer, captain’s wife and child, plus four others reached a tug boat as the vessel sank. The tug left Portmouth at three with anchors and gear for the battleship Min Shuirl. Water flooded the engine room and the ship sank. Captain Jane and Belfiio were rescued four hours later, about four miles offshore.
