Chicago reports confirm a bank scandal at Milwaukee Avenue State Bank involving President Paul O Stensland who allegedly forged and looted funds over years. Depositors gather as investigators probe mortgages and notes while a divorced accomplice reportedly fled with him. Henry W Hering is cleared due to lack of proof.

City Recorder M. Probases says an approved bond form has been sent to the gas company and will likely be returned to the city by week’s end. Warren company hurries pipe materials for laying the pipe share in Vinita. Council vows to enforce the ordinance requiring work to start within thirty days and delivery of gas by December 1.
The Vinita Republican Club calls a meeting at the court house on Thursday August 16 at 7 o clock p m to elect delegates for the convention in Vinita on Saturday August 18 and to elect club officers for the ensuing year. Speakers will be invited and committee members Darrough Arnold and Wallén will secure them. Water Stanfield is president and J F Murphy secretary.
