Sapulpa Oklahoma August 5. The 17 month old son of Herman Burns Robert Paul Burns suffered severe burns to both feet when he ran into a yard where dry grass roots were burning but seemed cool. He stood frozen in fear until his mother rescued him. Doctors say he will be treated for two months or more and may be permanently crippled.

Suicide Follows a Quarrel in Hartshorne
Dr B B Owen of Hartshorne shot himself after a morning quarrel with his wife who refused to rise. A bystander daughter was seriously wounded when a stray shot struck her in the room. Owen, a halfbreed Indian, owned land in the Chickasaw area and ran a Hartshorne hotel. He died about thirty minutes after the shots. His widow and three children survive.

Gentleman Jockey Killed in Texas Sweepstakes
Fred Woodman of Hollis Oklahoma died at Childress Texas after his horse slipped on the quarter turn in a half mile sweepstakes. Woodman was dragged and kicked to death when his foot caught in the stirrup during the ride on his father’s horse.
