hay marketed heavily in Vinita hay market boom
Hay is coming into Vinita by the hundred wagon loads with 150 loads received by Fred L. Kelley yesterday and more arriving by 9 pm. Prices run about 4.58 per load in barn and 5.00 loaded on the car. Captain A Lucy ships eight to ten loads daily and stores much for shipment. Rail freight favors wheat over hay, so much hay must be stored, yet demand from the north and east remains strong. Kelley and Lucy run thriving local and out of town barns on Frisco and Katy lines at White Oak Catale Big Cabin and nearby points. Weather last week favored hay making and business is rushing.
