Charles H. Hathaway longtime Montpelier resident and carpenter died Sunday at his Winter street home aged seventy five. He fell from a barn roof injuring his hip and suffered heart trouble. He leaves a wife and four children Charles Hathaway of Waltham Louis Hathaway of Montpelier William Hathaway of Knoxville and Mrs Dora Wing of Montpelier. Funeral was held Tuesday with Rev J Edward Wright officiating.
Labor Day program in Northfield lists parade marshal John McCormick, band stand speech by Lawyer Swaxey, and a full afternoon sports program starting at 1 p m with events including 100 yard dash, putting the shot, long jump, obstacle race, wheelbarrow race, sack race, greased pig, tug of war and a bow for married men prize. Evening dance at armory hall featuring Connell and Waterman concludes the day. Posters advertise the event.

Miss Inez May English and Clifford L Besett were married Wednesday at 2 40 pm at the English home on School Street withRev Erie K M Jones officiating. Only parents and families attended. They plan Montreal and Niagara Falls before returning to Grand Isle and will spend time with relatives in Marlyfield and Cabot. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs Bogert and son Harry of Richmond and Mr and Mrs James English of Cabot.
