Gina Washington of Elkton urges nationwide support for House Resolution 298 to improve epilepsy awareness and seizure response. With Epilepsy Foundation backing, Representatives Jo Ann Emerson Ed Perlmutter and Dan Benishek introduce a bipartisan measure to inform government and communities about epilepsy and how to help during a seizure.
The Fresh Air Fund reports 56 New York City children enjoyed summer in the Blue Ridge area with host families and volunteers. The Ole Virginia Ham Cafe in Harrisonburg, founded by B Saylor Neff and family, was demolished in 1991 along with two blocks of surrounding buildings to make way for the Rockingham County Judicial Complex. Residents recall meals including hot roast beef, mashed potatoes, ham dinners, and chipped beef gravy from the last day.
