Elkton approves funds for Miller-Kite House repairs
Council unanimously OKs up to 49500 for Miller-Kite House Museum repairs at 310 E Rockingham St. The Elkton Historical Society refinished floors for 3000 with 9500 more repairs anticipated, potentially funded by a Charlottesville group. Elks students visited the Civil War History Mobile. 750 guests toured the museum setup at Elkton United Methodist Church.

Grottoes seeks new parks director after Stickley resignation
Grottoes moves to replace Lettie Stickley who resigned as parks director to join Augusta County Parks and Recreation in Verona. Stickley, Crimora native, served since 2002 as the town's only full time park employee and managed 10 to 15 part time and seasonal staff.

The town council discussed an off street parking plan for a resident's driveway and agreed to revisit the issue at the next meeting. Elkton historian releases 1600-photo book Forever

Fire injures one in downtown Elkton
An Elkton man was injured in a relatively small apartment fire on Spotswood Trail Monday night. The occupant suffered lower extremity burns and smoke inhalation and was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
