Elkton Christmas Parade Entry Deadline Nears
The Elkton Christmas Parade deadlines loom with 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, as the entry cutoff. The fourth annual parade is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, lineup begins at 10 a.m. just west of the railroad tracks on Old Spotswood Trail near the C&S Diner. Elkton officials Charlotte Shifflett and Margaretta Isom volunteer to help, inviting local merchants civic groups musicians school bands art departments and churches to participate with floats or banners.

Shenandoah Town Council reviews chamber and recreation updates
Shenandoah Town Council met November 12 with updates from the Page County Chamber of Commerce showing October totals of 2,587 visitors and 633 information requests. The chamber promoted town events, issued new visitor guides, and recent 87th banquet honored local businesses and a volunteer of the year. The council adopted a Declaration for the Right to Libraries, and Wilford Buck Gordon and Jamey Hensley reported the Recreation League is reviewing a lease for a new ballpark building housing concession stands, restrooms, a batting cage and a recreation center.
