Elkton Council Moves Ahead With Street Resurfacing Plans

Elkton town officials announced soon to begin street resurfacing as part of a broader upgrade package. Town Manager Reid Wodicka outlined a new water pipe design and sewer plant improvements while council extends summer water rate signup to end of May. Memorial Day tribute and golf cart legalization discussions were also addressed.

Elkton Council Eyes Higher Rates and Bigger Street Budget

At a June session the Elkton council discussed a proposed 2012 budget boosting street paving to 130000 from 13500 and capital equipment to 42000 including a new dump truck. Electricity revenue is pegged at 6 percent with a 40 percent profit margin and a 7.8 percent customer rate rise to cover Dominion Power's 13 percent wholesale hike.
