Robotics finals loom as EMS team creates DiBot tale
EMS sixth graders led by coach Lisa Weiser present a make believe fairy tale featuring DiBot and Bob a destination imagination robot. The group with Alex Cable Ethan Weiser Sydney Halleman Abby Borg Brittany Hoy and Matthew Good will perform a two act eight minute play at the state robotics final after three hour weekly sessions and two James Madison University Instant Challenges workshops. The tale centers on Bob pushing a pencil sharpener to aid Alex and discipline in class. Local peers from Montevideo Middle Cub Run Elementary McGaheysville Elementary and Spotswood High join in the statewide competition. Saturday’s event will also include an Instant Challenge. The team built the robot and backdrop themselves using a plywood platform and VHS reel wheels. A spring celebration promotion also appears in the text.
