Grottoes ceremony honors Bradburn Kyger for service
At a Memorial Day ceremony in Grottoes the Grottoes Community Veterans Association posthumously honored Dorothy Dolly Bradburn for over 25 years of grave decoration service. Miller Kyger, recently from Weyers Cave and now in Hot Springs, received a special certificate and medal for grave decorating and community service. Kyger, aged 88, was cited for tending graves across Rockingham Augusta and Greene counties and placing thousands of flags over eight decades. He began as a child helping his father and has organized graveyard care, burial plots for the indigent, and moss removal with a pine cone method. The event featured Tim and Jeff Nicely performing Some Gave All and involvement from local veterans and church associations.
