Brumfield wins 800 at region meet to join state-bound Blazers
Spotswood junior Brumfield clocked 2 23 to win the 800 at Harrisonburg Region II and qualify for Group AA state. She also helped SHS to two relay top threes, earning state berths for the 4x400 and 4x800, while teammates Morgan Funkhouser Groves Shortell reached state in multiple events. HHS swept girls competition, with Loughran praising the program’s best finish in a decade. TA and Broadway also posted top finishes among 20 schools.
