Elkton painter Joe Hensley completed an acrylic on canvas of the historic Gables hotel, selling prints to benefit the welcome center. He finished the six week project in June and invites the public to view Sundays 1-5 p.m. or call 298-1410 or 578-0869 for details.
Garr and family organize a relief effort in Bluefield to aid the unemployed with meals, staples, toys, books, and school supplies. They will distribute through 60 area churches, provide street ministry, lunches, face painting, and carry donations until August 4. Contact 298-7673 for details.

East Rockingham Business Council of the Elkton area schedules a Business After Hours social for 5 p.m. on Thursday Aug 19 at the Elkton Area Community Center.
