Tree Blows Down On Wire Cradling Cars In Elkton

A pear tree fell during a storm on S Stuart Avenue causing an electric line from a pole to a neighbor’s house to sag over two parked vehicles. The wire did not break and helped shield the cars from damage. Crews from Elkton Electric and Public Works cleared debris and repaired the line. The Weather Service cites a sudden cold air mass as a possible cause of the high winds.
