The Milton Mowrd State Baptist Association held a board meeting at First Baptist Church with Rev. S. L. Jones as president and Judge Reed of Muskogee in attendance. Attendees from other towns included Rev. N. A. Robinson of Bennesville Rev. Ry Whitaker and Rev U. C. Buchanan of Guthrie Ek Westbrook of Oklahoma City and others. If the questions can be set today members may leave tonight or stay until Monday morning.
Freeman b Martin one of the city teachers was indisposed Monday and Tuesday but resumed duty Wednesday morning. J O Spencer of Wilburton visited Tulsi Tuesday. Editor G W Griffin invites readers to send in early news for weekly publication. HG Griffin reached the age of majority Thursday and the family celebrated at home. Midway park is set for open time with new amusements for Tulsi citizens. Mrs L Gallins, off sick six weeks, is recovering and hopes to be herself again soon.
The Tulsa Oilers announce a string of signings and arrivals headlined by famed pitcher and catcher from Dallas. Jett Phillips joins from St Louis as a top west coast outfield option. J. W. Dorman and Nat Oliver expected to anchor infield and outfield with veteran second baseman datolsan signed. New uniforms and eager prospects set for action at Seventh Street Park.
The Muskogee Tulsa relation union announces subscription transfer to Tulsa Star for fall from issue date. Colored humane society agents remain sold for Tulsa Star credit. A meeting at east end led to a new member ship of 34 and an organized group with Freeman L. Martin as president and K T Bridgewater as vice president.
Chicago club women led by Mrs Ida Wells Burnett planned a meeting at Hotel Le Salle but were refused admission by manager E J Stevens who declared We must refuse to serve any Negro woman. The group of about two hundred assembled elsewhere.
Charles HL Herts, president of the Cook County League of Women's Clubs, presided at a county gathering. Warien tase foun ie Lables in the Gold rooms of the hotel was passed out K. C. Sharti.
