Morphine attempt ends with rescue for Colfax farm hand
Elisha Baker a 36 year old farm hand employed by William D Clark of near Colfax tried to take his life with morphine on Sunday night amid discouragement from heavy drinking. Two doctors revived him after he was found unconscious at 6 AM Monday. Baker, who has long struggled with alcohol, had spilled morphine on his coat, and he has warned the Clark family he might kill himself.

Case Compromised in Unusual Lease Forfeiture Suit
In Lebanon, the Lewis H. Jordan vs Thomas Lawler lease forfeiture suit was settled by mutual agreement under judge Artman and ex-judge R. S. Higgins acting as referee.
