Barred Plymouth Rock specialist dominates Boone poultry show

S. F. Cones, from this place, won most prizes at the Boone county Poultry and Pet Stock Show in Lebanon running December 24 to 30. His birds, bred by him, topped stock bought for high prices in multiple classes, including pen pullet and cockerel. Cones has 12 years of Rock breeding and a leading flock. Other notable exhibitors included J. W. Lockwood Otis Crane Lee Potts and Mrs. Ida McMullen.

New Century Welcomed in Thorntown With Noisy Festivities

The year 1901 was greeted in Thorntown with a lively demonstration rather than quiet celebration. A watch meeting at the M E church drew a large crowd while outside ignited by fireworks and a ramb ling holiday element. Bells rang at midnight and prayers were offered as the century began.

Social revelry marks twentieth century debut in Lebanon

The Candy Kitchen hosts a supper at eight o clock honoring Fay Hall of Thorntown and Will Thomas of Zionsville. Attendees include Messia Carl Anderson Frank Essex Sam McDaniel Lon Wilcox Chas Logan John Hendricks Rolla Williams. Guests enjoy a country dance at Lochinvar Hall with a toast praising the host group.
