Barnwell plans annexation and new plant development to boost water supply. Construction on water and sewer lines may begin this fall after annexation finalizes. The plant includes back up generator power, 100 horsepower pump improves firefighting pressure, and off site operation. Bulk water prepay accounts rise to 70 customers.
Public service manager Rob Cressman says life-cycle expectations are similar for EPCOR and traditional options with one phase or two. He notes growth could extend the plant life cycle beyond 20 years and that both proposals would meet regulatory requirements using existing infrastructure where applicable.
