Silent auction boosts funds at Taber telethon evening
Performers from Taber, Vauxhall, Lethbridge and Chestermere entertained at the Heritage Inn telethon. Attendees hoped to return next year as more Taberites performed this year. A silent auction raised extra money with a Limited Edition DC Land Print selling for 400 dollars to Mike Brand and an autographed jersey by Aaron Sorochan going to DRR Holdings.

Alberta to implement new oil sands royalty framework in 2009
Premier Stelmach outlined a royalty in kind plan to boost Alberta oil sands revenues with bitumen delivered to the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission. The framework, slated for Jan 1 2009, includes sliding oilsands rates up to 9 percent and higher post payout, with no grandfathering for existing projects.
